We are just 2 weeks away from the 3rd installment and one year anniversary of CRSSD (pronounced “crossed”) festival March 5-6 2016 in downtown San Diego! Since the inaugural CRSSD festival last year, this underground, indie, and deep house festival has made waves among festival-goers across the nation. More like an urban block party instead of a large scale festival, this collaboration of FNGRS CRSSD and Goldenvoice, the creators of Coachella, is bringing top tier artists like Odesza, Gesaffelstein, Loco Dice, Jamie Jones, Chet Faker, Tale Of Us, Gorgon City, Claude VonStroke, Green Velvet, Tycho, Hot Since 82, and Jeremy Olander.
Hosted in the beautiful Waterfront Park in the middle of downtown, it’s the perfect setting for 10,000 or so 21+ aged adults to dance and vibe to great music. With the Maritime Museum on one side, the towering city administration building on the other, and the San Diego Bay view dotted with palm trees, there is plenty to see besides the stages. Craft beers and local food vendors allow you to sample San Diego’s fine cuisines. There are also the fountain jets that cascade into ankle-deep pools that you can splash around in. Without any fancy art installations or scheduled activities outside of the music acts, this festival is all about amazing music in a beautiful venue filled with beautiful people.
Getting to the festival is very simple. With multiple hotels right across the street, you have the option to stay within walking distance to the festival. Andaz Hotel San Diego is also offering a deal where festival goers get free entry into the after parties being hosted at the hotel. Afterparties will be announced in the coming weeks and ticket prices are rising soon so be sure to grab your tickets ASAP.
