Hulaween Drops Massive Lineup, Prepares for Ticket Sales Friday

It’s time to return to the river.

The Phase 1 lineup for one of the southeast’s most homegrown music festivals has dropped, and it’s grand news for both first timers and veterans of the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park. The 2016 installment of The String Cheese Incident’s curated festival seems to return to it’s jammy roots, as My Morning Jacket, Umphrey’s Mcgee, STS9, Greensky Bluegrass and The Motet will all grace the stages. But, being Suwannee Hulaween, there are enough deviations to keep things quirky, and dare I say it, cheesy. Foremost among these is the time honored tradition of three (3!) nights of The String Cheese Incident, where truly anything can happen (last year featured a Soul Train set, with the one and only GZA of Wu-Tang renown, on Halloween night). For those that need a spritzer of other genres scattered between the jams, Silver Wrapper and Purple Hat Productions have outdone themselves again. The Funk is alive and well: Big Gigantic will be onstage with members of The Motet, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe will keep things groovy, future funk phenome Manic Focus will throw down an unforgettable set (hopefully at the Amphitheater!), and Lettuce, a band that needs no introduction, will be there as well. Pioneering rappers Logic and Anderson Paak will fulfill what Chance the Rapper started last year, and such names as Gramatik, Rufus Du Sol, Snarky Puppy, Rebelution, and The Claypool Lennon Delirium round out the diversity (Electro-soul, house, jazz fusion, reggae, prog psych respectively) that truly makes Hulaween.

Tickets go on sale Friday, April 29th, at Noon EST, and the festival plans to keep cap ticket sales at 20,000, so get your tickets early! There’s countless reasons why this fest made the coveted Fest 300 last year.
