The sixth year of North Coast Music Festival in Chicago’s Union Park is just around the corner, and we’re ready to start closing out the summer on a high note. Fans of funk and jam bands, hard dubstep and trap, or all of the above are looking forward to this lineup…here are a couple artists I’ll be sure to see.
Hailing from the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, Australian electronic hip hop duo Hermitude are making a splash in the American electronic scene. Their first US appearance was back in 2014 after the release of their single “Ukiyo”, and after the debut of their most recent single “Vibration/Gimme”, we’re thrilled to see them on the rosters of many more festivals across the US.
If you are looking for some truly funky music, make sure to catch Polish Ambassador. You’ll recognize his neon-colored jumpsuit and live sound mixing that brings together unexpected genres for an incredible and unique performance. He plays at 4:45 on the Coast Stage on Sunday; check out his set, and give his newest album a listen.
