A Music Festival in the Mountains- High Sierra Music Festival

High Sierra Music Festival is a multi-day music festival held in Quincy, California. This festival features some of the most influential jam bands, funk master, and Newgrass artists that the music scene has to offer. The four-day festival takes place at California’s Plumas-Sierra Country Fairgrounds located in the Mountains. People often joke around by saying ‘Quincy’s elevation far surpasses its population- except during Music Festival Season!’ This big musical gathering, about 10,000 people, will have a way of bringing out the bohemian, jam-band-loving, festival goers who populate the small town of Quincy June 29th– July 2nd.

High Sierra Music Festival is known for bringing in some of the most famous jam bands, but it also offers musical acts in bluegrass, jazz, reggae, and rock. The 2017 headliners are Trey Anastasio Band (2 sets), Ween, STS9, Gov’t Mule, Galactic, Snarky Puppy, Boom Box, and many many more. While offering incredible musical acts, High Sierra also offers its festival goers workshops in movement, play shops, films, and art!

This festival is a family friendly event, but also offers music lovers late night shows hosted by acts such as The Grateful Ball, Dopapod, The Werks, Galactic, Manic Focus, Boombox and more. The late night doesn’t take over the main stages but instead occurs in intimate rooms located on the grounds. This gives the music lover the best of both worlds- big, festival performances and small, intimate concerts.
