Electric Wedding Bells Are Ringing

Let’s talk about Electric Forest.

Surreal, magical, and life-changing are some adjectives used to describe the experiences of thousands who attend this festival yearly. Ornate stages, dazzling lights, and positive vibes are shared as festival-goers hop back and forth between the stages in the woods. With EDM-heavy artists, it’s likely impossible to have an epic time.

For one lucky festival-goer, the summer of love was in full swing. Jessica, a dedicated Electric Forest attendee, experienced the weekend of a lifetime, and then some. Jessica spent her 5th year at Electric Forest with her now fiancé, attending EF for the 4th time. They met 13 years ago. To say she’s a fan is an understatement.

“Coming to this festival was one of the best choices I have ever made. If I could come here every week, all year long, I would,” she states with enthusiasm. Jessica’s been to Ultra Miami, Suwannee Hulaween, Northcoast, Spring Awakening, Veld, Mamby, Wavefront, Lollapalooza, and Electric Forest, and claims that EF is and always will be her favorite. I’m starting to feel like this festival should be at the very top of my bucket list.

Jessica had no idea her fiancé, Andrew, would propose, though she knew right away that this was the man of her dreams. “I knew the very first week of dating that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him.” Alright, I’m tearing up now. He planned the proposal from start to finish, urging Jessica’s friends to record critical footage on the GoPro. They kicked off their first day with Big Wild at the Ranch stage, but Andrew had bigger ideas. He started the day by handing her a love note, filled with reasons why he loves her. After Big Wild, Andrew headed back to camp for some “medicine”. Jessica started to worry after 20 minutes of his absence. After handing her several notes throughout the day, her friends brought her over to the elephant, with the last and final note tied around the leg. The final note read,

“Jessica Ray, these are just a few of the million reasons why I love you, and I know for sure I would never love this life without you. I have one question for you…”

“I looked down and he was on one knee. I blacked out for a second. I was hysterical. That moment was the best moment of my entire life. If I could relive it every day over and over again, I would.”

Cue the ugly tears! She agreed to marry him and the rest is history.

The couple is planning a destination wedding, potentially in the forest. Up next on their festival bucket list is Tomorrowland. Their favorite artist at EF this year was RL Grime-. “You never know what he’s going to play, and the way the crowd gets into his shows is amazing!”

WE LOVE LOVE!

Congrats to the beautiful couple. Have a festival engagement story of your own to tell? We’d love to hear from you.
