Back for its 18th year, Summer Camp Music Festival released phase 1 of the lineup for 2018. Headlined by moe, Umphrey’s McGee, Phil Lesh & the Terrapin Band, and Diplo, the initial lineup does not disappoint!
Summer Camp has been a highly anticipated music festival that I have been wanting to attend for the last two years and the lineup this year makes the wait well worth it! With an undercard filled with numerous artists that are some of my favorites, it will make my first year at Scamp a memorable one! Here are a few artists that you should check out and get excited for their set!
RL Grime
The king of trap, Henry Steinway has risen to be one of my favorite trap producers. His music was some of the first electronic music that I had discovered thanks to a friend from college. From seeing him at my first music festival back in 2014, RL Grime has become quite a fan favorite for those who are a fan of bangers and trap arms. RL Grime is also well known for his Halloween mixes. This is set that I think you shouldn’t miss and RL Grime will always be a favorite of mine!
The Funk Hunters
Nick Middleton and Duncan Smith, a Canadian DJ/producer duo from Vancouver, British Columbia, are becoming an artist you NEED to see. They have played at numerous festivals over the years (Burning Man, Shambhala, Imagine to name a few) and was an opener for GRiZ for his Red Rocks show this past year. Recognized for their musical sound of future funk, they also mix a lot of old school soul, funk, disco, and hip hop in their sets.
Action Bronson
Arian Asllani, otherwise known as Action Bronson, is set to light Summer Camp up with his music. Some of you may know him from his old online show Action in the Kitchen or his YouTube series Fuck, That’s Delicious, but some of you may not have known that Bronson was a respected fire-flame gourmet chef in New York City. Back in 2014, he embarked on tour with Eminem and supporting acts 360, J. Cole. and Kendrick Lamar in Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. With a handful of mixtapes and a few albums, Action Bronson will be a rapper at Scamp that you shouldn’t miss!
