Sasquatch Music Festival may be named after a great North American Folklore that many believe not to be true but I can assure you, the festival in Washington is real. Every year thousands of attendees descend upon the beautiful Gorge Amphitheatre, which is known for its breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding foothills and gorgeous sunsets.

This year the event will celebrate its 16th edition with a huge lineup. The headliners for this year include Bon Iver, The National, Modest Mouse, David Byrne, and Tyler, The Creator. Smaller names filling out the bill are Vince Staples, Tash Sultana, Spoon, Anderson .PAAK and the Free Nationals, Explosions in the Sky, and many more.

While the line up is huge, here are 5 artists that really stand out as ones you do not want to miss.

Tyler, The Creator

Tyler, The Creator has been shaking things up in the music world since 2007. As one of the founders of Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, he has been known for making music outside of the box. Now, as a solo act he is producing, songwriting, and composing. He also has hosted his own festival, Camp Flog Gnaw in LA for the past four years.

Lizzo

Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Melissa Jefferson is an alternative hip hop artist better known by her stage name, Lizzo. She started off as the founding member of many indie hip hop groups before her solo debut album Lizzobangers in 2013. Time Magazine named her one of 14 artists to watch in 2014. Since then she has dropped her first major-label EP, Coconut Oil, and toured all throughout the US and UK.

Tash Sultana

Tash Sultana is a multi-talented artist who has been making waves by selling out shows with no help from promoters and by gaining tens of millions of views on her homemade videos. Not only does she boast incredible vocals, but she can play over 20 instruments. This powerhouse from Australia is one act that simply cannot be missed.

David Byrne

David Byrne is a man who has worn many hats throughout his long artistic journey. He started his illustrious music career as one of the founders of the Talking Heads from 1975-1991. Since then he has released music solo and worked in film, photography, opera, and writing. Byrne has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, amongst winning such accolades as an Oscar, Grammy, and Golden Globe.

Neko Case

Neko Case has been gracing the stage for over two decades. After leaving her home in Washington at the young age of 15, she began forming the musical community that would support her throughout the years. By age 23 she moved to Vancouver where she drummed for emerging punk bands while attending art school. She made her solo debut in 1997 and has been making waves ever since.
