One of the biggest celebrations in Germany is returning for another massive edition and bringing Great Britain across the water for the weekend. Featuring a unique theme, world-class lineup, and countless things to see and do, this weekend will be one of the best events of the summer.
After attending this incredible event last year, I’ve compiled a list of things to see and do at this festival to make sure you get the full Airbeat One experience!
1. PARTY AT THE CAMPGROUNDS
Camping at festivals is all part of the experience and the Airbeat One campgrounds are next level! Whether you’re in the main camping area with your car or the green camping area surrounded by tents, the entire experience is unlike any other festival. Each morning, take a walk through the grounds, make friends with the people you meet along the way, and join in on the insane activities that go on including MANY homemade slip and slides!
2. MEET THE LOCALS
Last year, I camped with a group of German guys I met walking into the campgrounds and they welcomed me into their camp for the weekend where I was able to immerse myself into the German culture. Make friends with people around the campsite and learn how to party like a local (and drink A LOT of beer!)
3. CHECK OUT THE TOWN
Airbeat One is located in the German town of Neustadt-Glewe, home to just under 7000 people! A free shuttle frequently loops the city from the campground, stopping at locations such as the train station, various supermarkets, and the nearby lake. Hop on a shuttle during the day and explore what this beautiful little town has to offer!
4. CATCH THE FIREWORKS SHOW
Make sure to make room in your schedule for the insane firework spectaculars that occur on both the main stage and q-dance stage! The 15-20 minute display of lights, flames, and fireworks accompanied by the summer’s hottest tracks is one of the most incredible sights of the festival!
5. CATCH A SET AT THE Q-DANCE STAGE
One of my favourite things about big festivals is exploring the grounds and experiencing a set at each stage. The Q-Dance stage is always my go to when leaving the main stage. With an impressive international lineup, incredibly dedicated fans, and an indescribable atmosphere, the Q-Dance stage is something you have to experience.
6. WATCH A SET AT THE TRANSMISSION STAGE
One of the biggest trance events in the world is hosting their very own stage and should definitely not be missed. If you know anything about Transmission, you’ll know that they are famous for their world-class light shows and this stage will definitely be a sight to see!
7. WATCH A SUNRISE FROM THE FERRIS WHEEL
The view from the top of a ride at any festival will be incredible, but one of my favourite memories from Airbeat One 2017 was catching the sunrise from the top of the Ferris wheel! If you’re not riding the rail at 5 in the morning, make sure to go on a ride and watch the sun come up from behind the main stage. It lights up the campgrounds as far as the eye can see. It’s a breathtaking and unforgettable view!
8. STAY UNTIL THE VERY END
Partying from dusk til’ dawn can be exhausting but the locals know how to go hard! The three-day event starts in the early afternoon and the music doesn’t stop until the sun comes up. Make sure to stay at the festival on the last day until the very end. Go as hard as you can one last time. The vibes at the main stage during the final set are absolutely insane and unlike anything else you’ll experience all weekend.
