All Aboard The Rocket Ship to Moonrise
written by Don Idio
It is almost that time of the year…on August 6-7, we’ll find ourselves at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland for the third annual Moonrise Festival. This two-day fest features headliners Bassnectar, The Chainsmokers, Tiesto, and Zedd, with the rest of the lineup loaded with heavy hitters including Flosstradamus, Jauz, Excision, Claude VonStroke, STS9, Griz, and even Tyler, The Creator.
My #1 artist to catch: SNBRN
If you like a mix of deep/future/indie house, SNBRN’s set is definitely a can’t-miss. His chart topping songs “Raindrops” feat. Kerli and “Gangsta Walk” feat. Nate Dogg perfectly exemplify his self-described Sunset House sound, a blend of high energy and chill California sounds.

Improvements to this year’s Moonrise are set to include better food and bathrooms, more water stations, new art installations (some of which are interactive), and a second entrance to help with the flow of foot traffic when entering and exiting the venue. The Star Team will also be back to hand out earplugs, answer any questions, and make sure everyone stays hydrated.
2 day GA tickets are still available for $164.50, and 2 day VIP tickets are on sale for $299. Single day GA tickets are available for $109, or $159 for VIP. VIP tickets include express entry, access to exclusive bars with premium liquor and drink specials, viewing decks at the Stellar and Lunar Stages, and a gift bag full of Moonrise merch. For those driving in to the festival, be sure to purchase a parking pass ($35). Shuttle passes are also available for $30; shuttles will run continuously from Baltimore’s downtown hotel district to Pimlico from 10am until an hour after the music ends .
