Dirtybird’s WALKER & ROYCE hit the Bay

DIRTYBIRD is no stranger to The Bay Area!

DIRTYBIRD has been dropping basslines and creating smiles on the dance-floor since January 2005. Since then, the Bay has hosted Dirtybird Quarterly’s, BBQ’s, endless shows at our ionic venues, and of course The Dirtybird Campout Festival only a few hours away.  Barclay Crenshaw (aka Claude VonStroke) has A&R-ed some of the most influential house music producers in the world. A short list includes Justin Martin, Catz ‘n Dogz, Julio Bashmore, Riva Starr, Breach, Shiba San, Eats Everything, J Phlip, Style of Eye, Kill Frenzy, and of course the notable Walker & Royce.

The Dirtybird Players have had a huge crush on the New York based duo Walker & Royce for a while now, as it’s not uncommon to find at least one or two W&R tracks in any of the DJ’s sets on tour. Walker & Royce have a unique and forward thinking approach to music.  They continue to receive support from the DJ peers, such as Pete Tong to Maceo Plex to Sasha to Adam Beyer. Dirtybird Campers are still buzzing about their set at last year’s (2016) Dirtybird Campout, and their 2017 set blew everything out of the water!

Needless to say, we’re fans.

Walker & Royce have been producing their groove-heavy deep house music since 2011 — but almost from the start, they were labeled as stars. Now, it’s official! The Duo are highly sought after and in fact performed during the prime time set spot (Saturday 11:00pm-12:30am) at The Dirtybird Campout!

“Walker & Royce” started when Sam and Gavin, having known each other in and out of the dance scene for years, finally began working together in 2011. As things usually go, it was a bit of luck that got them off the ground: Crosstown Rebels boss Damian Lazarus noticed one of their very first releases, a remix of SAARID’s “Future Lately,” on Nervous Records. The result was the Crosstown Rebels EP “You’re Not Welcome” and with that, Walker & Royce was launched into the dance music spotlight.

Most recently the duo has joined the ranks on Claude Vonstroke’s seminal Dirtybird Records with the release of the “Boy” EP and “Hit Dem Draws” and Green Velvet’s legendary Relief Records with their chart toping release “Peep This Cat” and “3 4 Shake It” with fellow Dirtybird artist Will Clarke.

The Duo is on a roll and now is your chance to catch
